So how much did it take to get the rabbitry up and running and how long before you broke even?

I still have not broke even, and I don't really think I will. Since I am not a large breeder, I mostly just pay my feed bill with sale animals. It took around I would say $1,000 to get all the equiptment I have today. Keep in mind it took about 3 years to get to what I have today, Finding used cages with little to no rust and needing little repair is a task all on it's own. I would still like a few more cage's, but am not planning on getting them anytime soon.

That was a great question, not many people us breeders ask that! :P

What would it take to build your own cages?

I am not totally sure, I would have to price it buy how much wire I need, which depends on the cage size's I want to build. Then the cost of trays and clips to hold them together. I know it's much cheaper then buying them, but also takes much more time!
