Mini Rex in Broken, Black, and Castor

Blog

We have been busy... too busy.

Hello!

It?s been a while since I have updated the blog. So I will shed some light!

We have been BUSY! Lol :P

Summer has come and gone and we had a good run at Union County Fair! We took Reserve Champion with Tarmans Pub who is now living with some friends and going to work for them!

Thanks to a few people who have bought from us this summer! Betty, Amy, Andi, Tryacie and Dave, I hope our animals produce nicely for you guys! Keep my posted! Tiffany, I hope little Rex is a good boy for you! ? Enjoy him!

We have a bunch of bouncy babies in the barn, and are breeding more doe?s. We have gotten some nice litters over the summer, and are ready to breed those summer babies and get something from them a little nicer! ? We have been busy pairing everyone up.

We welcomed Rogers Rave, and Rogers Hope Floats to our barn in August, thanks to Amber Hart for this great pair!

We also just added Rogers Vegan Diet, and Kelly?s Sage both being Castor doe?s to the barn. Both are going to be nice addition, and make some pretty babies from Rogers Mile High or BriarWoods Auron!

BriarWoods started slowly with some nice stock, and are adding some nicer animals to our own stuff over a little time. We finally have a Castor Jr. Buck from our own stock that I totally love, and he will be used with a lot of our stuff this fall, and next spring.

We also have a Black Jr. Buck from our stock that I adore and I plan to use him for a fair amount of breeding this fall and next spring.

We are culling hard, and I am striving to keep the ideal Mini Rex in my head when picking my breeding, and picking animals to add into my herd.

We fixed our shoulder problem fairly quick with ?Rogers Mile High?, sadly though he didn?t bring in short ears, or full Hind Quarters, luckily we already had those two qualities on most our doe?s, so we got some babies on both ends of those two scales.

I am being very picky in what I am keeping, and I am making sure I never have any less than 10 open holes. I want to breed for quality not quantity, and keeping cages clear, and not used helps me keep in mind that I must not breed unless I feel it?s a very good match, and will take me further in my herd?s development.

As you can tell, I have been making some large adjustments to how I am operating around here. I am hoping these adjustments will get me some higher placements, and take my herd up a few levels much faster.

Any suggestions to help? I am open to ideas! Email me to chat if you like!

This was a large update. I will try to update you all more often in smaller amounts. Thanks for sticking with us!

See ya?ll at the shows!
